Shining Horse - Equine Guided Learning
Why Horses?

"Some animals, like some men, leave a trail of glory behind them. They give their spirit to the place where they have lived, and remain forever apart of the rocks and streams and the wind and sky.”
Marguerite Henry

People have always found horses' beauty, spirit, strength and grace awe-inspiring and there are many of us who will bear testimony to having been comforted by a horse's soft, generous, open-hearted, forgiving presence.

Horses are large and therefore command attention. Like us, they are social animals, living in small family groups (herds) with a clearly defined social structure and hierachy.

They are highly sensitive beings picking up on the slightest nuances in body language, atmosphere and non-verbal cues. They are experts at mirroring our internal emotional states, reading our body language and the energy of our intention.

Horses get confused when we are not being true to ourselves when our thoughts and feelings do not match or when we do not mean what we say.

Leadership is extremely important to a horse and they are constantly asking the question: "Who's leading?". Their survival depends upon them working together efficiently as a team.
