How to Find Us
Shining Horse welcomes visitors by prior appointment. We are situated in the peaceful village of Newton-St-Loe, just over 3 miles from Bath City Centre. It is easily accessible by public and private transport and can be found just off the A4 linking Bath to Bristol.
From Bath by private transport
Follow the A4 dual carriageway heading westwards out of Bath towards Bristol. You will come to a roundabout with a pub called the Globe Inn. Take the first exit, signed Newton-St-Loe. Drive up the hill and take the first turning on the right marked Newton-St-Loe. When you get to the top of the hill, turn RIGHT. Drive to the end and park in the road outside the church. As you face the church, our entrance is the black door on the left.
From Bath by public transport
Catch the X39 from Bath city centre and ask for the Globe Inn roundabout. There is a bus shelter on the dual carriage way just before you reach the roundabout. Jump off here and turn LEFT, walking up the hill. Take the first turn on the right signed Newton-St-Loe. Carry on up the hill until you reach the top and then turn RIGHT. Walk to the end and as you face the church, our entrance is the black door on the left. During term times it is possible to catch the orange bendy bus to Bath Spa University College (not the University of Bath!) and walk to the village.
